This sash is machine-made using polyester. This design first appeared around the time of the first Carnaval du Québec and has since been adopted by different festivals and Métis organisations. Due to its widespread use, this is the most recognized sash. Often referred to as the Métis sash, voyageur sash or finger woven sash, these sashes are made on a machine with the sides serged (sewn to keep the material together).
